I fell in love with leather craft 4 years ago. I am always looking to improve and to take on new challenges when it comes to leather craft. I started watching You Tube videos a few years ago, and I always enjoyed Stock and Barrel along with few other channels for information and ideas. When I seen that they were offering a class at a special rate I jumped at the chance to learn more. I was extremely satisfied with the class and content. I've also enjoyed trying some of the templates. In the future I will continue to follow the channel and purchase.

I first started leathercraft in 1955 at the age of ten. At that time Tandy had a store in New York at that time I had a relative who was a Saddle Maker and leather carver. Always being artistic in nature I gladly received his mentorship and won my first craft show in high school. This was a hard time for a draft age male and college and Coast Guard Reserve took up most of my time. I did find time to sell a few belts and rifle slings but never considered it a business. While earning a BA in Art Education and a MA in Industrial Arts Education I continued with leather crafts as a hobby. During college I worked for Tandy and even met the great Al Stohlman who introduced me to figure carving which I used to my advange when I made my first saddle as a class project in Graduate School. (I posted a photo if it on the group's Facebook page last week). After spending a few years teaching, and as a Deputy Sheriff the tools retired to a storage facility, fifty years passed. While watching Utube last year I noticed that leather work had suddenly come back into vogue. Now at Seventy Six years old and retired I realized that there were now many outlets ot buy and sell leather. Some things have changed, double stritched lacing is a thing of the past. I just purched a cylinder arm sewing machine and have traded my lace for 277 nylon thread. You have made me aware that this can be a worthwhile pastime and business for an old guy who has given up hand sewing holsters by hand. Your business course was great and for me I have recently revived the DBA of G bar G Leather and there is no looking back .........Sincerely Gary Graves..... Ps I admit that this is surely more than you wanted to know but it shows the huge demographic you are dealing with and I would be happy to help promote the craft any way that I can.

I really enjoyed the course and picked up a lot of useful information. Although I am doing this more for a hobby, the aspects of hiw to charge for a project and how to focus on anparticular line of product was very helpful. I would recommend this course to anyone, business or hobbiest as well.

Just want to thank y’all for the great online course! It has really been helpful! I’m new at making leather bags but have learned so much by just watching you on utube and especially now with all the great business tips! ( which I’m really not good at). The financial worksheets have been invaluable!
Thanks again!

I was really hesitant at first to give this course a shot, but I'm really glad that I did. There were a lot of useful tools and tips on how to start a leather crafting business. Working with leather and being my own boss is something I've wanted to do for long time, and hope to be successful one day. I'm very glad I decided to check this out because I feel this was the push I needed to at the very least say that I gave it my best shot. Thank to everyone at Stock & Barrel for the information!

My first experience with Parker and Stock and Barrel was when I was researching for purchasing and running a local leather repair business. I'm actually a fine artist and this course was excellent even for an artist because it focuses on the needs of makers with limited income. I loved the simple explanations and downloads "especially" the yearly budget plan. This course has helped me narrow my focus as well as determine that I may not really need a "brick and mortar" shop and I might be throwing away money to do so. Thank you so much!

I have been slowly growing my skills and business knowledge in the leather world and have had a hard time finding business help specifically regarding leatherwork. This course is exactly what I have been looking for! Thanks Stock and Barrel Co.

Very helpful to refocus my direction, shore up some short comings and focus on what really matters in developing my brand and my products. Well done videos and great explanations! The financial advice alone is worth the investment in this course.
